How to get the best ad copy

Did you know that I’m not “just the affiliate manager”? I’m also an affiliate. I’m going to be right there with you “in the trenches”. So you see, the tools I create for your use, the tips I share, the questions I answer are going to be straight from what I’m doing too. Needless to say, I’m going to make sure all the tools we need are going to be there just waiting for us (you and me as an affiliate) to use.

If I as an affiliate need something, then there’s a pretty darned good chance you’re going to need it too. Not to mention the fact that I too am going to be using these tools. So I’m working hard to make sure I create tools that are going to be quality and going to be wanted. I don’t know about you but I don’t put up just any old junk on my sites and blogs.

One by one, I’m going to be going through and each of Liz’s products she has to offer you. As I do this, I’m going to be making lists and lists of notes of what someone would get out of by purchasing each product. (Because ultimately, that’s what all of our customers want, right?) Then I’ll be writing ad copy and giving you lists of short “ideas” to get your own ideas rolling as well.

One of my favorite things to do that works very well for me is lists of brainstorming or what I actually refer to as braindumping. This is just a lists of notes I’ve picked up throughout the piece I’m reading - which helps to create great ad copy and reviews as well as a nice list to refer to for further creation. I highly recommend others have their own braindumps too and see what you come up with.

Don’t forget though, no matter how much I give you as an affiliate to use - I don’t care how many buttons, banners, email ads, signature lines, articles, reviews, etc is there for your use - there is absolutely, positively nothing even remotely close to being as good as your very own personal review and recommendation. Something you yourself have written in your own words from what you yourself have read and taken in. There simply is no comparison.

Sure, we all say “But I suck at writing ads.” but there is still nothing better than your own personal recommendation that you share with your readers who have come to like what you have to offer and trust you. It doesn’t have to be a hyped up advertisement. Sometimes - depending on the relationship you’ve created with your readers - even the simplest of recommendation including how something has personally helped you is more than enough.

I also know well how it’s not feasible to purchase every single product you want to use an affiliate link for - especially those of you who are just starting out. (Remember, I’ve been there.) That’s another one of the small reasons we offer so many tools. However, make sure you own at the very least one product created by the same author.

In this case of course, I’m saying that before you slap up the next affiliate link to any product of Liz’s, make sure you own at least one of her products.

Besides, when you personally are at least familiar with their work, you’ll find that you probably don’t “suck at writing ads” as much as you thought you did ;) It’s easy to promote something that you know and trust.

Keeping on the same topic here … you’ll also want to remember that you need to spend money to make money. Don’t forget to invest BACK into your business from time to time as well. When you start earning commissions from the first product, invest some of that money back into your affiliate business and purchase something else. Besides, not only will you be reviewing another product to promote, but you’ll also be investing into your education. Hopefully you’ll learn something from the new product you purchased.

Now as I say all this some of you are probably thinking,

“Sure, talk me into buying even more!”

Right? Keep in mind that right now, you purchasing anything from Liz only benefits me in one small way. My job is not to sell you Liz’s products. My job is to help you earn commissions by teaching you how to properly promote an affiliate link. I don’t make a dime from what you purchase. My benefit comes with the success of this affiliate program.

You see, my work is judged based on the success of the affiliate program I’m managing. If the affiliate program fails - so do I. So therefore, when you purchase that next ebook, review it, recommend it to your readers and make a sale, then we have ourselves a properly ran affiliate program. Then yeah, I look good too. I must be doing something right and I get to keep my job. That’s my benefit.

The manager of this affiliate program who’s sole position is to help you make more money is saying this: You need to purchase some of Liz’s products and write your own reviews from time to time too. And don’t forget - your personal review can always be used in addition to to the tools we offer. I’m not wasting my time here either. I want you to use the tools we create as well. It’s all about that perfect balance between the two.

To your success,
Jamie Bing

  1. [...] Use this time to do a little of that “brain dumping” I told you about to help you write the best ad copy. You’ll be amazed at what can come from one little brain dumping [...]
